| Introduction to Cocktails - 1 day course

Course duration: 5 hours - 1 day (Saturdays) - 1.00pm - 6.00pm
Course locations: Birmingham and London.
Course overview: this cocktail course experience provides an introduction to the world of cocktails, professional bartending and explores its roots from 1806 to the present day, introducing a practical foundation in the mechanics of mixology and cocktail preparation. You learn methods of cocktail making; building a drink, stirring, shaking, blending, layering, muddling, straining and smashing!!! oh and tasting.
Your ‘Shaker’ experience starts with a reception drink (tea and coffee also available), and an informative talk, covering the history of cocktails and the cocktail terminology and tricks used by the industry experts. Then you'll receive two cocktail making training sessions, including demonstrations and interactive cocktail making. After a break you will have the chance to make some of the most popular classic and contemporary cocktails, including the Classic Martini, Sour, Mojito, Cosmopolitan and more, not forgetting tasting and experimenting by designing your own cocktails. After the Cocktail making lesson is over, you'll take home a complimentary cocktail guide.
Your Cocktail Making itinerary will be as follows:

1.30pm Introduction of the cocktail and its history
1.45pm Tricks and tips from the Cocktail experts
2.00pm Mixology and the cocktail explained
2.15pm Expert demonstrations and interactive cocktail making
3.30pm Break (Tea, Coffee or Cocktail)
4.00pm learn the classic and contemporary cocktails of today
6.00pm Leave with a memorable experience
Course requirements: Good English, no previous experience, or developing bartender, minimum 18 years or parental consent.
